The New School Rome is delighted to present Shakespeare's

Much Ado About Nothing

on

at

14.00 (for students) and 18.00 (public showing for parents including refreshments).

The Year 6 production is an annual event in the school's calendar and takes place outdoor, in the round, immersed in the greenery of the school's garden.

Following victory in battle, the Prince, Don Pedro, calls on his old friend Leonato, who welcomes the war-weary soldiers to stay in his house for "at least the month".

It is here where Claudio falls instantly in love with Leonato's daughter, Hero. Don Pedro takes on the seemingly straightforward job of ensuring that Claudio gets his girl. However, The Prince's evil brother, Don John, has other ideas and goes to rather extreme lengths to spoil this intended marriage.

Another of the soldiers, Benedick, is reacquainted with Beatrice, Leonato's niece, with whom he is in a constant "battle of wits". Benedick and Beatrice clash fiercely on every subject imaginable. Well almost. They agree on one thing: that love and marriage is something to avoid at all costs.

That is... until Don Pedro takes on his second challenge; to play Cupid and pull off the unlikely miracle of making these "two bears meet".
