12th November 2015
We do not have a 'final' in our Key Stage 2 hockey tournament, but in 2014 the last game in the league, felt exactly like a cup final. Griffin needed to beat Phoenix in order to claim the cup. At the final whistle, blue ribbons were tied to the cup and Griffin's players held it aloft. And lightning doesn't strike twice, does it?
Come 2015, after many excellent matches involving all teams (Dragon, Griffin, Phoenix and Unicorn), the girls and boys in blue again felt they were playing in a cup final. Beating Phoenix would mean the blue ribbons could stay exactly where they were.
Red ribbons were on standby, but despite a penalty save from the goal keeper in red, Griffin finally broke Phoenix down. The 'final' match of this year's Inter-house Hockey league finished
Griffin 2: Phoenix 1
and Griffin keep hold of the trophy for at least another year.
