I want to congratulate our students in Years 11, 12 and 13 who, once again, did stunningly well in their IGCSE, AS and A-Level results. At GCSE 92% of all grades at The New School were A*-C. This compares to 66.9% in the UK at C and above or 4 and above in the new 9-1 system. 20.5% of all grades in the UK scored at least an A or 7, whereas at The New School 49% of all grades were A or above.
At A-Level 78.4% of all grades in the UK were A*-C which compares to 88% at The New School. A-Level students in the UK were awarded the highest proportion of A or A* grades since 2012 with 26.4% being given the top grades. However at The New School 54% of students were awarded the top A and A* grades, more than double the proportion in the UK! We wish Year 13 well as they embark on university careers in the UK at institutions as diverse as Glasgow University, Imperial College in London, University of Surrey and Bristol. Other students are heading to America and some are remaining in Italy.
Also, the percentage of all grades at The New School which were A*-C grades increased from 89% in 2015 to 96% in 2016.
